NAMJ Removable Impeller Blade Design

North American Marine Jet, Inc. has developed a revolutionary new way to attach individual impeller blades to a central hub, allowing for easy maintenance and repair in the field.  This new system is designed to allow each blade of the impeller to slide onto the hub by means of a dovetailed base on each blade.  Having the ability to remove individual blades without complete unit dis-assembly means less down time for jet maintenance.  The blades are secured to the hub by a thrust ring on both sides of the blade base.  Removal of individual blades can be performed through the jet units inspection port on the forward top side of the intake, granted the port is above the hull waterline.  This design also means less cost to the operator for repairs, because there is no need to replace the entire impeller as with other conventional jet drives.  Individual blades can be stocked as spare parts to allow blades to be changed at anytime.

Removable impeller blades allow for service to the jet unit, without unit dis-assembly.  The blades can easily be removed
through the jet's inspection port.
